Muuto collaborators from the very beginning, Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll of Norwegian designer duo Anderssen & Voll are responsible for some of our most beloved designs. Recently, they revisited the Connect Modular Sofa Family, adding 2 angled modules to enable an even greater sense of creative freedom and flexibility.

These modules allow the user to effortlessly create playful swooping curves and bold forms, elaborating on a modular system that is both functional and visually impactful, using minimal but powerful new components.
The dynamic design can be used in seemingly infinite ways, following the curvature of room, or functioning as a sculptural room divider, seating incorporated. In a half moon shaped Connect Modular Sofa, the seated are turned towards each other in a more intimate setting ideal for lounges and collaborative spaces.
Meanwhile, a zigzag shape with contrasting modules invites individual focus in shared spaces, a great fit for waiting areas, airport lounges, or solo work. A single angled module naturally forms an embracing love seat, for two or one—on its own or combined with other sofas.

Initially, the sketches for Connect Modular Sofa had a straightforward, unembellished appearance. However, through the recent several iterations, its form was refined to enhance both its distinctive silhouette and innate comfort. 14 unique modules allow the ultimate freedom of expression.
The final product is a sophisticated blend of practical and elegant, embodying what the designers describe as "a balance between comfort and sculptural aesthetic."
Good design is a matter of transparency, enabling the viewer to see and appreciate how an object is built or made. Anderssen & Voll’s work always accentuates and celebrates simple but considered details, be it the upholstery, a particular joint or angle, or how a chair stacks.
