On His Design Philosophy
“I like uncomplicated ideas and I really appreciate accomplishing a lot with simple methods and materials. Obvious things that are so ordinary that they become extraordinary.”
On Scandinavian Design
“I believe that it’s equivalent to fun, good social values and an uncomplicated straightforwardness— accomplishing a lot with simple methods. Scandinavian design is in one way very international, however upon taking a closer look, I guess the heritage has a great influence too. We tend to think very pragmatic and simplistic while putting a lot of work into the aspect of durability. This could be misunderstood as boring, but it isn’t.”
