Our products are designed to last which in itself eases the pressure on the environment. We view responsible manufacturing processes as integral to our design philosophy. We work to ensure that all our manufacturers are socially responsible that operate with the highest ethical standards. Our manufacturers and suppliers adhere to the United Nations principles of human rights, anti-corruption and non-use of child labor as outlined in the Global Compact of the United Nations.
We source our raw materials with the greatest care. At Muuto, we have the ambition to add a new perspective to Scandinavian design; something that often prompts us to working with innovative materials that for lessened impact on our environment. An example of this is our Restore Basket and Under the Bell Lamp, both which are partly constructed from recycled PET bottles while our Fiber chair series has a bio-composite shell that is comprised of up to 25% wood fibers.
Being a Scandinavian design company, wood appears in many of our products. Here, we strive to use Scandinavian wood types such as oak, beech, pine and ash—all of them being sorts that are non-endangered, sourced from sustainable managed forests.
