The Ambit Lamp is made by traditional methods, fused with the discovery of newness in the shape and expression of the object. We visit designers Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom in their workspace to learn about their ideas for the design.

When asked about the visual aesthetics of Ambit, Gabrielle Gustafsson, one half of TAF Architects, says: “With Ambit, we worked with its form and proportions in a thorough and almost meticulous way. We discovered a dynamic between the linear and rounded shapes of the composition that made for an attractive outline.”
Touching on their vision for the design, Mattias Ståhlbom, the other half of TAF Architects, notes: “It’s a timeless pendant that endures fads and trends. The lampshade is made from a lightweight spun material while the dual-tone feature, with the inner shell being white, adds a delicate and silent contrast to the design.”
